In 2025, we’re continuing to expand, update, and enhance Britannica School, starting with the launch of a new High School Level design this month.
On the back of positive feedback to updates to Britannica School’s Primary / Elementary and Middle levels, the High school level is also getting a revamp! The new design is focused on creating a more engaging, student-centric learning experience, while delivering the same trusted, high-quality content Britannica is known for.
These new updates will start rolling out to Britannica School in February 2025.
Revamped Homepage
The High school level homepage has been given a fresh new look that is more visually engaging, with enhanced search and navigation features.
Redesigned Article Page
Article pages have undergone a complete redesign to support more immersive learning on all devices, featuring prominent visuals, a browsable media gallery and all new interactive content.
Information is more easily digestible with collapsible headings that break down longer articles into shorter blocks of text. The introduction of bulleted lists and informational text boxes within articles also help to summarise content for easier reading.
New OpenDyslexic Font Tool
For improved accessibility, an OpenDyslexic font option will be added to all article pages, which learners can turn on or off with a single click.
Enhanced Navigator Tool
Based on feedback from students and teachers, the new navigator design will consolidate all tools and features into a single panel. This streamlined design will launch at the high school level and will soon after be updated across the primary/elementary and middle school levels.
The navigator is fun new way for students to interact with the page and find all the tools they need in one place. The navigator will always stay in view, even as students scroll up or down the page.
